The fact that the taxis have had to dispense with wing-mirrors is a good indication of just how cramped a Kolkatan street can get. Buses and trams, auto-rickshaws, cycle-rickshaws, human-rickshaws and thousands of pedestrians (not to mention the occassional cow) all jostle for space in queues that don't get anywhere quickly.
